La Suite – Jean Paul Gaultier

June 4, 2012 § Leave a comment

This installation was completed last year August through October.  Jacque Carlu’s apartment was the subject of the intervention.  He taught architecture at MIT in Cambridge from 1924-1934, and returned home to designed the Palais de Chaillot for the Paris World Fair in the 1937. His apartment was redecorated by French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier in conjunction with the French edition of our Elle Decor, ‘Elle Décoration’.

I’ve been stuck on nautical stripes for weeks, and not that anyone is ready to wrap their home in them, it’s a great art installation and gets me thinking about what I might like to wrap in stripes… Picture frames, side table, who knows.
